Wondering about the new Fallout Shelter update character Mr. Here's everything you need to know about what he does, how to get him, use him and repair him.Last week Bethesda dropped a new set of Fallout Shelter updates on fans and in them we found some interesting new challenges and resources – namely the introduction of and attacks. As a result I thought I’d take some time to write up a few new tips. While this post will focus on Mr. Handy – how to get him, use him and repair or revive him, do also check out the post on surviving Deathclaw attacks without losing any dwellers.
Or if you are looking for other Fallout Shelter tips and tricks, I have a number of useful posts listed below.Fallout Shelter Game Tips: On Mr. Handy – How To Get, Use And Repair The New Robotic ButlerWho Is Mr. How To Get Him? Handy can occasionally be found inside of a lucky lunchbox, if you really want one, your best bet is to purchase him in the online store. Photo: iDigitalTimesOk, so for those of us that have been playing Fallout Shelter on iOS, is the first “paid” feature that might be considered a major asset.
Up to this point I have honestly not purchased one lunchbox and have reached the goal of the game (200 dwellers) numerous times. While I won’t call Mr.
Handy essential to success in the game, I do think the robotic butler makes life in the vault a bit smoother. To get Mr. Handy, you are pretty much going to have to purchase him from the store. While some have reported finding Mr. Handy in the lunchboxes they have earned, thus far I haven’t opened one lunchbox that had him in it as a special character/resource. Fortunately Mr Handy is actually pretty affordable.
You can get one for $0.99 or 5 of them for $3.99.What Does Mr. Handy Do?Ok, so if this is a paid resource, what does the robotic bulter do exactly? Well, he has a few different functions – some I find more valuable than others.Mr.
Handy Can Collect Resources In the VaultOnce you purchase one or more Mr. Handy’s you can assign it to a floor (only one Mr. Handy will fit per floor). While on the floor, he glides back and forth between rooms.
If there are any resources that are ready to be gathered, Mr. Handy will collect them.
It can save you a lot of tapping, particularly the larger your vault gets. Handy really comes in handy when Deathclaws attack or other incidents occur as he comes equipped with a flame thrower and other tools.
Photo: iDigitalTimesBesides fetching your resources, Mr. Handy comes with some nice tools to help you out when Raiders and Deathclaws attack or when incidents like fire or reproach infestations occur. He has some kind of fir torch thing that’s actually really effective for fighting Deathclaws, which, anyone who has encountered them knows they are no joke!
He also has a fire extinguisher to help with fire or will come to your aid when Radroaches and Mole rats break into your vault. The cool thing about Mr.
Handy is he’s kinda fearless. He will go straight for incidents, as instead of traveling through the rooms, and will follow attackers around and the entire floor, until they move on. You can drag hm to a new level if needed during an incident and he will continue to follow the attackers until they move on to a new floor again. What can we say, Mr.
Handy is pretty badass! But that’s still not all he does.Mr. Handy Can Go Into The WastelandsWhile I haven’t really used him much for this, Mr.
Handy can go out into the Wastelands. He can’t grab weapons or outfits, but he does pick up some caps every few minutes. If you are in need of caps, sending out Mr. Handy may be good – particularly now that Radiers can steal caps too!
Fallout Shelter Mr Handy
He doesn’t lose life points by going out into the Wastelands because he doesn’t interact with anyone or anything. It’s a useful thing to do, particularly when he’s low on life. More about that below.Mr Handy Can Be Some Awesome Comedy Relief.
Just becuase he's a robot butler doesn't mean Mr. Handy isn't equipped with a sense of humor.
Check out his snarky sarcastic Wastelands logs for a laugh. Photo: iDigitalTimesOne thing I love about Fallout Shelter is the number of snarky nuances in the game. Handy is no exception to the rule. While he might be a robot, he’s not short on sarcasm and attitude while out in the Wastelands. If you want a little laugh, just take a look at his explorer log comments. You won’t be disappointed. Handy Gets Hurt: How To Repair The Robotic Bulter Or Revive Him When He DiesSo Mr.
Handy is pretty hardy, but he does have the ability to die and, unfortunately, there is no way to repair him along the way. You just have to wait for his life to give out. When he does die, you have to pay 2000 caps to revive him. This is why I said, when he gets near the end of his life, it might be a good idea to send him into the wastelands. Or even better, set him out in the Wastelands at night when you go to bed so he has several hours to gather caps.
That way you can repair him ASAP.Got more great tips for how to use Mr Handy more effectively? Share with us in the comments below.
IntroductionAdds Plasma Pistol, Rifle and Flamer as guns for the Mr. Handy Thruster Arms. Requires the Automatron DLC.DescriptionAdds three new Plasma guns for the Mr. Handy thruster arms. Their recipes are based on the Plasma Gun barrel parts, as seen in the. I consider them fairly balanced, both in crafting requirements and in damage, but please provide feedback if you feel they're too weak/strong or if you'd like to see a compatibility patch for another mod.Note: There are no Right Arm versions, as I couldn't get them to work on that arm. In vanilla Automatron there are no guns on the Right Thruster Arm, only the Saw and Pincer.Future PlansOriginally this mod was supposed to be 'Automatron Mr.
Gutsy', with a paintjob and a voice module etc. As you can see on the pictures above, I even tried to add a Ripper attachment to replace the standard Saw. However, due to Windows crapping on my computer and real life getting in the way, I've decided to release the mod as is.
That being said, I still plan to add those things in the future, so keep an eye out.InstallationNMM: Install as usual.Manual: Extract into the Data folder and activate MrHandyPlasmaGun.espConsole VersionXBox One:PS4: Unavailable due to lack of archive suport:-(Special ThanksTo /fog/ for moral support, but more importantly to (aka Buffscale) for helping me rig the guns as well as general troubleshooting. If you're into Plasma guns, you should definetely check out his mod:-).

Dogmeat won’t be the only companion Vault Dwellers can have with them through their adventure in. Game director Todd Howard has confirmed additional companions will be available to escort and its surrounding areas. In addition to Dogmeat, Howard confirms Mr.
Handy is just one of the many companions that can aid you in your travels. Companions can be swapped for one another, although Howard doesn’t go into many specifics on how this system would work. “We do have a number of companions that fit - you know, they’re very cool - that fit different archetypes,” Howard reveals. “And the dog is a very classic Fallout one.”Whether or not it’ll be possible for players to have all of their companions in one central location, or if not, available at a moment’s notice, is unknown at this time. Howard does say they can be swapped in and out, although he doesn’t go into detail as to how that can be done. Let’s hope it can be done fairly quickly as we’re sure a companion like Mr. Handy can be extremely helpful when a group of Deatclaws are sniffing around your camp.
